Prospective Students

Are you interested in doing research with the Astronautics and Robotics Laboratory?

Overview

ASTRO Lab creates opportunities for students to explore engineering problems and develop novel solutions to the most pressing challenges in astronautics and robotics. We seek to foster the development of world-class researchers who are able to readily contribute to industry, academia, and government programs in space and robotics. We regularly welcome new students and researchers to the lab and encourage applications from all enthusiastic and talented individuals.

Undergraduate Students

ASTRO Lab seeks to engage undergraduate students in ongoing research projects and integrate motivated students into our research team. To get involved, interested students should contact Prof. Bazzocchi via email with the following information: curriculum vitae / resume, transcript, and a short description of motivation and project(s) of interest.

Students at York University should also indicate if they are seeking to complete a specific type of research experience with ASTRO Lab, e.g., NSERC USRA, LURA, or independent research course.

Graduate Students

Applications from motivated and adept prospective graduate students are always welcome. Applicants for the M.S. or Ph.D. programs must apply through the standard graduate admissions process at York University. Please indicate the “Astronautical and Robotics Laboratory” in your application and areas of interest.

Graduate student applicants are also encouraged to seek out funding from external sources, e.g., NSERC, Mitacs, NASA, NSF, or the appropriate funding agencies for your country of origin.

Postdoctoral & Visiting Fellows

Interested and talented postdoctoral fellows or visiting researchers are encouraged to apply. Applicants should have a significant publication record in well-recognized journals and conferences. Postdoctoral fellows, visiting researchers, and exchange students should contact Prof. Bazzocchi via email with their curriculum vitae, transcripts, description of motivation and project(s) of interest, indicating if they have external funding.

Postdoctoral fellows are also encouraged to seek out funding from external sources.
